GYM MOTIVATION

Gary Johnston's transformation from someone who couldn't find the motivation to go to the gym early in the morning for ten years to someone who now looks forward to his morning workouts every day.

Gary was able to achieve his 10-year goal of being an early riser after working with Umar and now works out at the gym every day at 6 a.m.

What problems were you experiencing?

What was your problem and when did you first realize you had it?

The problem I was having when I went to Umar, was not being consistent with going to the gym and having a severe lack of motivation for training.

Did your problem occur suddenly or over a period of time?

This problem had been ongoing for a few years.


What solutions did you try before working with Umar?

I have always enjoyed training with a partner instead of training on my own, and I often found myself looking for any excuse not to go if I had to go on my own. Before working with Umar, I did sometimes have training partners, which helped, but I never had consistent training partners, so I changed up my workouts and bought new products to push me to go more often, but to no avail.

At what point did you decide you needed outside assistance?

When I was at sea as an engineering cadet, I would often go back to Northern Ireland, where my family lived, and I wouldn’t have a training partner there. I found myself lacking motivation every time I was on my own, so I decided that I needed outside assistance.


What helped your decision to work with Umar?

What materials did you read or watch that influenced your decision?

From having a few discussions over the phone with Umar, the knowledge he demonstrated in such a short space of time, and how relaxed he made me feel swayed my decision to work with him.

What criteria did you have when you were looking for a Coach?

I didn't specifically look for a coach, but it was more by chance that we crossed paths and it clicked after speaking with Umar that he is someone who could help me greatly.


Did you have any hesitations/concerns beforehand & how were they alleviated?

The only concern I had before beginning the sessions was that I had never done anything like this before, so I was a bit of a sceptic but that was quickly eradicated.

What finally made you decide to trust & work with Umar?

As I previously stated, Umar has a way of making clients feel at ease, and he made me feel like I was speaking with a friend.


How did working with Umar help solve your problem?

What was your experience like during the session?

There was a lot of information put across in the sessions, but they also had a good mix of laughter and fun which helped keep me engaged.

What did Umar do that helped solve your problem?

The coaching sessions from Umar helped solve my problems by uncovering the true reason why I wasn’t able to consistently go to the gym, removing the problems, and also putting measures in place to prevent this issue from resurfacing.


What happened the moment you realised the coaching was working to solve your problem?

When I realised that this method of coaching was working for me, I then asked Umar to help me with some other issues which I felt he could help with, and he didn’t disappoint.

HOW much time & stress did you save as a result?

By going through this process, it greatly reduced the time it would have taken for me to ever get on top of the issue (if I would have even managed that).


What results did you see?

How much is life better in the areas where you used to have the problem compared to where you were before working with Umar?

My life as a result of working with Umar is now much more positive as I have gotten in better shape.

How did Umar help you reach your goal(s)?

I feel healthy and better about myself. My mental health has also improved massively as a result, due to the endorphins that are released with going to the gym a lot more.


What positive results have you seen?

Other than what I’ve already mentioned the main thing I have learned from working with Umar is that no matter how much of a change you make in your life to combat a certain issue, if the issue hasn’t been uncovered and removed from your mind, then you’re at risk of falling into the same trap again.

Would you recommend working with Umar for this issue or any other issues & why?

To conclude, I would highly recommend working with Umar, not just for this issue, but for any issue, someone may feel they would want to improve in their life.
