For the last 10 or so years, I have been a night owl. From working late nights as a bartender, to now consistently working a 7pm-7am shifts as a police officer in New York City and going straight to my "side hustle" - I've had my fair share of sleepless nights (and days). I considered myself a professional napper for the longest time - until I started struggling with that. Even when I had the occasional "day off" and was able to get a "normal" night's sleep (which for me typically was 2-4 hours) I found myself tossing and turning, and just as I started to slip away, the alarm would start going off. If I was lucky enough to grab more than 4 hours, I found myself waking up even more exhausted and more times than not worse off. I would be in a fog most days and felt like a zombie.
